Faith Has A Voice

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Do You Know the Five Commonly Overlooked Aspects of Faith?

Holman’s Bible Dictionary defines faith as “…the trustful human response to God’s self-revelation via His Words and His actions” (547). Faith always works in agreement with the will of God.

Faith is the bedrock of the Christian walk. We begin by having faith in Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. As we mature, we exercise faith that our lives and conduct will become ever more aligned with God’s Word. We employ faith as we seek God about concerns for the world around us and for our own personal needs. Today I’ll highlight five aspects of faith that you may have overlooked. Let’s jump right in…

Faith is a gift

The Word of God teaches that we receive faith as a gift from Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith. One of the chief misunderstandings about faith stems from a failure to recognize that faith can only be received as God Himself imparts it to our hearts. Faith cannot be manufactured. It cannot be worked up. Belief is not the same thing as faith.

Faith comes before belief

When we are grounded in faith, our beliefs line up with our faith in God’s Word and His promises. Without faith, belief is derived from the mental or soul-ish realm. In contrast, faith comes from and operates in the spirit realm. It is possible to believe one of God’s promises and at the same time not have the faith to appropriate that promise. Attempting to conjure up faith through belief is faith in our perceptions and ourselves rather than faith in God. God is well pleased when our foundation is in Him.

Faith is fundamental to pleasing God

Hebrews 11:6 says, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” This means that faith is not optional. If we want to please God, we must seek and practice faith in all areas of our lives. Faith puts us in closer union with God by bringing our prayers in to His presence.

Faith is the vehicle that transports our prayers into God’s presence

I like to think of faith as the vehicle that transports our prayers into God’s presence. If we don’t use our faith vehicle, our prayers will never get there. As your level of faith increases, your prayers will transported faster and more effectively. You might say, the level of your faith will determine whether they go by pony express or by the Concorde supersonic jet.

Faith has a voice

Faith has a voice. Faith speaks what God speaks in His Word. Yes. We speak it aloud “…clearly, vividly, and in unmistakable terms and in undeniable language” (Sparkling Gems from the Greek, Rick Renner 78). The voice of faith prepares a way in the spirit for the plan of God to come to pass. Our voice is the strongest weapon that God has in the earth today, for with it comes authority and power grounded in who we are in Christ. Faith speaks of that which it is persuaded. Whether through confession of the Word, praise, worship, encouragement, or spreading God’s Good News, faith is to be given a voice.

I encourage you to receive God’s gift of faith. Allow your belief to flow from your groundedness in faith. Enjoy the communion with God knowing that your faith pleases him. Rest assured that your prayers are transported directly into God’s presence. Give voice to your faith.

The Most Important Choice You Can Make:

Prayer for Salvation:

God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. I confess that I haven’t lived my life for You. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so I might have a better life now and eternal life in heaven. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. From this day forward, I’ll live my life for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
